Verbum Publications is a small independent, family run Publishing House. Although we are based in the East of England, we operate almost exclusively online meaning we can help you out wherever you are in the world as long as you have a good internet connection! We specialise in short fiction and Christian books but will consider any project for publication as long as it fits in with our family ethos. As well as publishing our own titles we can offer very competitive and comprehensive services for authors striving to self-publish.
Who are we?
Our team is made up of university graduates in English, Theology, Philosophy and Psychology, two published authors, a print and design technician with over 30 years experience and an experienced beta reader who has proved an invaluable asset to us in the past.
How we work
Our approach is a little different from many other small publishers, please note the following points carefully:
• Our aim is to help people get their work into print, but we DO NOT currently provide a specific marketing and distribution structure, (something that other publishers 'forget' to talk about!) We are very clear about the fact that with the exception of a few 'standard' inclusions, the responsibility for marketing and promotion lies with the author.
• We only select works to be published with the Verbum label that are of a high enough standard and that we feel fit our publishing ethos.
• Our services do cost, even if we publish with our label, BUT certain processes are then included in the pricing bringing the overall costs down. And, the author then owns all the rights outside of statutory publishing obligations, which means all the future profits are the author's.
• You DON'T have to publish with us to use our services. We can help with as little or as much as you require: You may have your book edited but it just needs formatting, or you may have an E-book cover design that needs making into a paperback ... you will only pay for what you absolutely need!
• We do consider bespoke contracts ... talk to us further if interested.
