But when Dax Doughnut, the Supremely Sprinkled One, steals the mysterious star growing at the heart of their home, normality cracks apart.
With their world in danger, Rose and Celereece set off across space to bring the star back. Thawnton would much rather stay safely behind – until events, embarrassment and perhaps just a little courage send him racing after them.
Soon the three gingerbreads are caught up in an adventure involving floating eggshells, a doughnut factory, the Pastry Patrol and a star whose true purpose is far greater than any of them imagined.

Sebastian Goymour grew up and lives in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.
Books were a huge part of his childhood. He loved the places they could take him and the worlds they allowed him to imagine. But somewhere around the age of thirteen, books gradually gave way to TV, video games and other things, and for a long time he stopped reading them altogether.
Seventeen years later, he rediscovered children's books. Only this time, instead of just reading stories, he decided to try writing one of his own.
Perhaps growing up as one of ten children had something to do with it. Life in a family with nine siblings gave him plenty of experience of different personalities, emotions, disagreements, adventures and general chaos. Today, he has a busy family of his own, with his partner and their three children.
Sebastian has always been curious about strange ideas, imaginary places and the question, What if...? He is fascinated by the choices people make and how our emotions can sometimes lead us in unexpected directions. Those things have found their way into his stories — along with rather a lot of gingerbread.
